From an empty account to a live feed.
-
Connect your WooCommerce store
In WooCommerce, create a REST API key with read and write access, then give OhoSync the store URL and that key pair. The key is stored encrypted and you can revoke it from WooCommerce at any time. Your store admin password is never involved.
-
Add a supplier under Suppliers
A supplier holds one feed and the settings that apply to it: where the feed comes from, which adapter reads it, and how often it should run. Add one supplier per feed.
-
Map the feed to your fields
For a CSV or Excel feed, match the supplier's columns to SKU, title, cost price, quantity, image, category and brand. SKU is the field everything else hangs on, so make sure it is stable between exports. XML feeds are read by an adapter written for that supplier's structure.
-
Set your pricing rules
Add a markup percentage or fixed addition for the supplier, and cost tiers if you want cheaper and more expensive items treated differently. Set the price floor and the maximum price movement you are willing to publish without review.
-
Build a list under Lists
A list is the set of products you actually want in your store. Add products from the feed by category, brand or margin. Products outside a list are never written to WooCommerce.
-
Run it dry
Run the list as a dry run. OhoSync produces the full record of what it would create, update and skip, without writing anything. Read that record before going further.
-
Run it, then check History
Run the list for real. Sync history shows the run with its counters and its field level changes. Products created as drafts can be reviewed in WooCommerce before you publish them, and publishing locks their content fields automatically.
Before you run anything against a live store
-
Start with a small list
Ten products is enough to prove the mapping and the pricing are right.
-
Lock what you have already written
If products in your store already carry your own titles and images, lock those fields before the first run.
-
Check your price floor
A floor well above zero is what stops a decimal error in the feed becoming a published price.
-
Create new products as drafts
New products arrive for review rather than appearing in your shop unannounced.
