Short answer
To keep a Shopify store in sync with a supplier, connect the store to OhoSync, add the supplier's CSV, Excel or XML feed, match their columns to your product fields once, set your markup, run a preview, and then let updates run on a schedule (every 12 hours on Growth, every 6 hours on Pro) or whenever you press the button.
What reaches your Shopify store
- New products with title, description, images, product type and tags. They are published to your sales channels so they appear in the shop instead of sitting invisible.
- Prices worked out from the supplier's cost with your markup, cost bands and rounding.
- Stock levels written to your store location every time the supplier's figure changes.
- Only the right variant. An update touches the variant whose SKU matches the supplier row. Variants you created yourself are left alone.
Products you already have
Most shops are not empty when they start. OhoSync can take over products that already carry the supplier's SKU and keep only what you choose in step: everything, just stock, or stock and price. Your existing titles, descriptions and photos stay yours.
A product you delete or archive in Shopify stays deleted. The next update does not bring it back.
Safety before speed
An automatic sync runs against a live shop, so it checks before it writes. A price that moves further than you allow is held on that product. A feed that suddenly loses a large part of its products stops the whole run, so a broken export cannot empty your store. You can run any update as a preview and read the full list of changes first.
How the connection works
Updates go to Shopify through the Admin API. Products, prices, stock and images are written directly; OhoSync stores no customer or order data. You can disconnect at any time from your Shopify admin.
Questions
Does OhoSync work with Shopify Basic?
OhoSync uses the Shopify Admin API, which is available on every Shopify plan. Nothing on the OhoSync side depends on which Shopify plan you are on.
Will it overwrite product texts I rewrote myself?
Not if the field is locked. You can lock title, description, images, category, brand, price or stock per product or on a whole selection, and when you publish a product you had as a draft its wording and images are locked for you.
Can it sync products with several variants?
Yes. Each supplier row is matched to the variant with the same SKU, and only that variant is changed. Other variants on the product are not touched.
Does OhoSync send orders to my supplier?
No. OhoSync keeps your catalogue, prices and stock in step with the supplier. Ordering from the supplier stays with you.
