Before an automatic sync touches your live store.
An automatic sync is only as good as the first run you let through. Go through this list once, and the following thousand updates are boring, which is what you want.

Short answer
Before switching on an automatic product sync: confirm SKUs are stable and unique, confirm whether supplier prices include VAT, set a price floor and a maximum price change, lock fields you edited, create new products as drafts, test on 10 products, read a full preview, then run for real and check the run history before enabling the schedule.
The data
- SKUs are stable. The SKU is how each row finds its product next time. If the supplier changes SKUs between exports, products will be duplicated.
- SKUs are unique. Two rows with the same SKU will fight over one product.
- VAT is known. Find out whether the supplier's prices include VAT. OhoSync will not run a live update until you have confirmed it.
- Currency is known. If the supplier prices in another currency, make sure conversion is on.
The guards
- A price floor well above zero, so a missing decimal never becomes a published price.
- A maximum price change per update, so a real but huge jump waits for you.
- Locks on everything you wrote or photographed yourself.
- Drafts for new products, so nothing appears in the shop unseen.
The first runs
- Ten products first. Enough to prove the mapping and the prices.
- Read the preview. Every create, update and skip, with nothing written.
- Run it and read the history. Every change is stored with what it was, what it became and why.
- Then switch on the schedule. And look at the first two scheduled runs.
Questions
What happens if the supplier sends a half-empty file later?
OhoSync stops the whole update when a file has lost a large part of its products, so the shop is not emptied by a broken export. You see the stopped run and the reason in the history.
